I was going to write something mooshy today, all oui, mon amour and je t’aimerai toujours.
But then the cat hissed at me for being boring and ran off to cough up a furball.
So instead, this:
T’es un osti de chien sale à marde!
You’re a fucking dirty shitty dog!
That’s what a character called Mimi said to the father of her baby in an episode of La Galère.
She yelled these sweet nothings at the very top of her lungs because the father of her baby refuses to accept his responsibilities.
Un osti de chien sale is a fucking dirty dog. Un osti de malade is a fucking sicko. Adding à marde after a noun makes it shitty.
Mimi also yelled va chier at the father of her baby. Telling someone to go shit in French isn’t exactly romantic sweet talk.
Many of you would like the series La Galère. It’s popular with a lot of females. You’ll find La Galère challenging, but you’ll sail a lot more smoothly in French if you can bring yourself to understand it. As I write this, season 4 can be viewed on tou.tv. Otherwise, you can find it on DVD.
A final note: If you remember all that québécois dzidzu-tsitsu business, then you know that the t in osti sounds like ts. As a swear word, osti is also spelled ostie. It derives from hostie, and this spelling is also sometimes used as a swear word.

Merci de me fait rire ce matin! And happy valentines day.
