Yes! Entry #600!
As #600 approached, I got curious as to the most googled québécois words and phrases that led people to OffQc since it began in December 2010… and there they are in the image above!
You can click on it to make it bigger.
Do you know them all?
Thanks everybody for continuing to read OffQc. It’s a privilege to have your attention.
Congratulations!!! Thanks for teaching us all this words!
I spent 4 days in Northern Québec, and I kept hearing the phrase C’est chien.
I understood it as being something along of the lines of bad, but couldn’t find it anywhere.
The phrase is “C’est chiant” and it’s “it’s annoying.” I would say “C’est tannant” is the equivalent
Thank *you.* Ever since your blog was recommended to me, this has become my most important daily resource for improving my québécois.
Congratulations on reaching 600, from a usually-silent but always grateful reader!!
Thank you for everything, your site is truly the hallmark for all things Québécois!
Congrats! No, there’s a few I missed (and I’ve been reading since 2010 on the old blog). I need to review!! Thanks for all the work you do for us Felix. It’s invaluable and we appreciate it 🙂
Congrats!!! Thank you so much for your site, I didn’t understand anything when I came here and your blog made a huge difference. My favourite posts were the dzi/tsu pronunciation and the use of -tu for questions.
In the future could you maybe do a post on how to use and pronounce “plus” to mean “more” and “not anymore”? I am struggling with this one.
thanks so much also from germany. mes gratulations!
