I don’t know about you, but when someone tells me I’m in a nasty mood, it just makes my mood even worse…
In a scene from La Galère, Claude told another character just that — that she’s in a nasty mood. To do this, she used the informal expression être à pic.
Examples:
T’es ben à pic ce soir!
Aren’t you nasty tonight!
Voyons, t’es donc ben à pic!
Jeez, you’re so grouchy!
In the example above, donc ben sounds like don ben. It’s an informal way of saying “so” before an adjective.
